Permissions

For ANR Authors

If you are a UC ANR author seeking advice on how to obtain permission from a non-UC copyright holder to use copyrighted materials, such as a non-UC photo, drawing, table, or other material for your manuscript, please visit the plagiarism and copyright infringement page in the author resources section of the ANR Peer Review and Publication Production page.

This site is restricted to ANR personnel, so Portal log-in is required.

All ANR personnel can use low resolution images from the Repository for ANR documents, presentations, and marketing.

Refer to the specific use guidelines for each image in the field Document Status as some images carry restrictions.

  • In general, low resolution ANR images in the Repository for ANR use do not require a permission.
  • Most high resolution images need to be requested; instructions are with each image.
  • Stock photos that we have purchased for the Repository have terms of use.

Requesting use of UC ANR materials

If you are a non-UC ANR author seeking permission to use content from a UC ANR publication, please complete our permissions intake form.

Please note that the copyright holder for all UC ANR publications is the Regents of the University of California and permission must be issued by the permissions officer or a delegated representative, not the author.
