Project Description

Squisher

The Squisher is a method to allow you to shorten URLs to something that will be easier to communicate to others.

For example, we can change:

http://ucanr.org/sites/anrstaff/Administration/
Business_Operations/csit/staff/
into

Squishes are not meant to be permanent! Do not use these URLs in any printed publication.

Permafrost

The Permafrost system will allow you to create permanent, short links to other pages.

All links will look like this example:

http://ucanr.org/sites/anrstaff/Administration/
Business_Operations/csit/staff/
becomes

These are permanent URLs that can be redirected to other web pages as needed and can have two owners.

Recommended Sites

ANR CSIT uses Google Custom Search for general search queries on all sites. Unfortunately, this system may not always return the most desirable sites for a particular search term.

That's where our "Recommended Sites" system can help!

The much heralded Web Action Team was added to our recommended site system, and one of the search phrases listed for this site is "web development." Therefore, you can enter "web development" in any site's search box and return the Web Action Team in the recommended search sidebar.

QR Codes

QR codes are easily scanned from mobile devices, allowing users to quickly capture the location of a web address on a device. These codes are generated automatically when you use the Squisher or Permafrost!

If you just want a QR code, enter a URL in the field below to generate it.
